About PDFMakerAPI
PDFMakerAPI makes generating professional documents as simple as describing them — pixel-perfect, editable PDFs without headless browsers, brittle templating, or layout bugs.
Why we built it
Generating a clean PDF is deceptively hard. Teams end up maintaining headless-browser farms, fighting HTML-to-PDF quirks, or hand-coding layouts that break the moment the data changes. PDFMakerAPI started from a simple goal: separate design from data, so anyone can build a document once and generate it perfectly every time — by API, by no-code automation, or just by asking an AI agent.
What we do
PDFMakerAPI generates editable PDF documents — invoices, receipts, certificates, reports, and resumes — from your data, a reusable template, or a plain-English prompt. Design a template in the visual editor and send a JSON payload to the REST API, trigger it from no-code tools like Zapier, Make, and n8n, or connect it to Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients and ChatGPT. Either way, you get back an editable document to fine-tune, then download.
How it's different
- Edit, don't just generate. Documents come back as editable, shareable links — fine-tune any field before downloading.
- Anyone can fill it in. Share a link and a teammate completes the document right in their browser — no login, no design tools, no code.
- Bring your own AI agent. Use it inside the agents you already use — no integration or API key required to get started.
- Pixel-perfect by design. A purpose-built layout engine with custom fonts, tables, page breaks, and page numbering — not a screenshot of a web page.
- Open and accessible. A free tier, a public REST API, and an open-source MCP server (MIT).
